Vinícius Jr. to Celebrate The Best Award at Intercontinental Cup
After missing out on the Ballon d'Or, Vinícius Jr. has finally been recognized with FIFA’s The Best Award. For many, this victory feels like justice served, as the Brazilian star becomes the first player from his country to claim the prestigious honor for the world’s best player since Kaká in 2007.
The Brazilian in Doha for the Intercontinental Cup
Vinícius Jr. is in Qatar to face Pachuca in the Intercontinental Cup, a match set to take place at Lusail Stadium, the same venue as the last World Cup final, in Doha, where the FIFA The Best award ceremony was also held.
The final match of the Intercontinental Cup will take place on December 18 at 12:00 PM ET, 11:00 AM MT, and 8:00 AM PT, airing live on beIN SPORTS.
The Real Madrid star would celebrate his individual accolade in yet another final, potentially securing his second title of the season with Los Blancos as they chase all six trophies available this campaign.
Vinícius, a key player in Real Madrid’s La Liga and Champions League triumphs, was also named the MVP of the European competition. His performances in 2024 earned recognition from coaches, captains, and journalists worldwide, as well as fans' votes, securing him The Best award.
Vinícius Jr. Joins an Elite Group
The Brazilian forward now joins a prestigious group of legends such as Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho (Ballon d’Or winners), and Romário (FIFA World Player), all previously honored as the best footballers on the planet.
