What Ancelotti Will Do Before the Final: What He Eats?, How Much He Sleeps?
Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian coach of Real Madrid, assured, five days before the Champions League final, that on Saturday he will eat "broccoli, salmon, and pasta" and will try to take a one-hour nap.
"I don't do anything special," he admitted when asked about his personal habits before big events. "I have my routine and that's what I'm going to follow, nothing special. I have a bit of superstition, it's quite normal because not having it brings bad luck. We are going to enjoy it; we are aware that we have done something good this season and we have to put the icing on the cake."
"Broccoli, salmon, and pasta is what I will eat. Then, a one-hour nap, if I can, and then all the thoughts about the match. Before the talk, my heart starts to beat faster, reaching 110 or 120 beats per minute. It stays there until the match starts, and then my heart returns to its normal rhythm," he acknowledged.
Ancelotti's success, as the coach with the most "Champions" titles, goes beyond tactical virtues. The Italian coach highlighted the importance of the psychological aspect and the daily interaction with his players to manage the locker room.
"I'm not a psychologist, but I have experience because I've spent many years in locker rooms, and the personal relationship is the most important in my opinion. We don't just talk about tactical aspects, but also about personal life. There are 50 people in an environment with whom you spend more time than with your family. If the relationship isn't good, we wouldn't be doing a good job," he emphasized.
Ancelotti said he feels as much a Madridista as any Real Madrid fan and highlighted the special relationship the club has with a competition in which it is the king with fourteen titles, hoping to make it fifteen in the final at Wembley on June 1 against Borussia Dortmund.
